In 1982, Susan and Jerry Corsover opened the first D'Lites Emporium in Plantation, Florida.

It all started when Susan, at the age of 31, had her first of two open-heart operations and began her "second chance" at life. Changing her lifestyle and diet wasn't easy. It wasn't something she wanted to do, it was something she had to do. She was determined to beat the odds, and she did.

She began exercising and eating healthier and giving up the sweets and fatty deserts. But the one thing she really craved and missed was the ice cream. She could give up food, but not ice cream!

So she searched the country for a fat-free, cholesterol-free ice cream that tasted like the real thing. It didn't exist. Disappointed and determined, she did the only thing she could do...she invented her own. And that's how D'Lites was born.
